LSU Press poet Claudia Emerson has been chosen as Virginia’s state poet laureate. This honor is the third award in as many years for the distinguished poet including the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for Late Wife and a cash prize from the Virginia State Library Association in 2007. Her newest collection, Figure Studies, will be published in October. Congratulations, Claudia!
